Immanuel Baptist Church was founded in 1952. This church was formerly Missionary Baptist, then Independent, and for the last several years has been loosely affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Pastor Ben Seewald was called to serve as the lead pastor in 2021. Pastor Joe Evans was added in 2024, bringing the church's leadership to a plurality of elders.
Doctrinally, the church adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a statement of faith for church membership. The 1689 London Baptist Confession, being a more thorough doctrinal statement, is adhered to by the elders of the church. However, this church seeks to cultivate a spirit of loving patience in matters non-essential to salvation, in secondary and tertiary doctrines in which Christians may differ.
The worship of the church centers around the expositional preaching of the Word on the Lord's Day, along with prayer, singing, and the regular observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
IBC seeks to build strong, biblical families while also providing a family to those who are single, divorced, separated, etc. We recognize that many people will come to us from broken families, and our desire is to help each person integrate into the "household of faith" (Gal. 6:10). Our mission statement is, "We seek to be a loving family of Christ followers, helping others find and follow Christ."
