While evangelism takes many forms, the two most effective evangelistic tools are the home and church. Both are created by God and designed for maximum impact. The home is the first of these and is the place where, day-in and day-out, parents are commanded to diligently teach their children God’s Word “when [they] sit in [their] house, when [they] walk by the way, when [they] lie down, and when [they] rise up” (Deut. 6:7). The church is next, as it’s there where children regularly hear the gospel through preaching, the observance of the Lord’s Table, and through baptisms. God’s Word is powerful, and where it’s faithfully proclaimed and lived out in the home and church, it will, with the Holy Spirit’s aid, lead to the conversion of the lost.

Let's talk about evangelism, especially what are the most effective evangelistic environments. First of all, hands down, The most effective evangelistic tool is a Christian home where a child is given a thousand reasons to believe through the word of God in real life over 20 years observing the truth, the power, the beauty, the superiority, the happiness of Christ, the repentance from sin in parents and everybody else, and the love of Jesus Christ demonstrated by a husband and a wife who actually love one another. This child hears the word of God when he sits in his house, when he walks by the way, when he lies down, and when he rises up. He hears the Word of God everywhere. And it saturates every part of his life.

It's not like some compartmentalized little Christ thing, this little Christian thing on the side. No, this child sees that Jesus Christ is king of everything. And if those parents are faithful, that child will see the greatness of the majesty, the beauty, the wisdom of Jesus Christ. That is the most effective evangelistic tool. The second most effective is the preaching and the fellowship in the life of a local church.

Because in a local church children come and they hear the gospel. If they have faithful parents who bring their children to church every Sunday, which they should, then they're going for 52 days out of every year. What's going to happen to them? They're going to come into a little kingdom. They're going to come into a kingdom, into a culture that Jesus Christ created.

This child will watch relationships. They'll see brothers and sisters relating to one another, but these brothers and sisters have been commanded to walk in love. They will see the older men teaching the younger men. They will see the older women teaching the younger women over many, many years. They will be in a church, hopefully, where the believers in that church are really concerned about the unregenerate in the church, because they're always unregenerate in the church, and they believe that the Church should have a regenerate Church membership.

And so they will be in a place where people are sharing the Gospel with one another. They will be in a place where hospitality is practiced. They will be in a place where prayer for one another is delivered. So to be in a local church is a pivotal evangelistic tool. These are The two most powerful institutions that God has created, the family and the church, they are the evangelistic and discipleship institutions that God has created and they are very powerful.

And I praise God for them, for his establishing these two wonderful evangelistic and discipleship institutions. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
