Idols thrive these days. We need more heroes. But wait! What's the difference?

We admire idols because of their exceeding fame, abundant wealth, great looks, amazing talents, or impressive abilities that we often wish we could have. On the hand, heroes are willing to live and die for what they believe.

Irenaeus of Lyons was just such a hero. As a follower of Jesus, he wanted to serve the church even though he was far from his home. So he wrote books. Books that continue to encourage the church to this day.

This large, hardback, children's book is written by Sinclair Ferguson and beautifully illustrated by Allison Brown.
