What is one of the primary attacks on Scripture today?

Ken Ham explains in this video that just as Satan tempted Eve by saying, "Did God really say that?" the Church should expect similar attacks today. The words of God have consistently been under attack since Genesis. Throughout history, when God’s Word comes under attack, God raises people to bring them back to the authority of God. The Reformation is one example of this.

Today, the teaching of evolution is one way that God's Word has been attacked. An acceptance of evolution causes doubt of whether we can trust what God's Word says. Ultimately, this teaches our children that we don't have to start with God's Word and that man's ideas and beliefs can reinterpret Scripture. Of course, this creates doubt as whether God really created male and female from the beginning or whether there was a worldwide flood to punish sin, for instance.

Psalm 119:89 (NKJV) - "Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven."

You know we do look at the church and we see that the church is not impacting the culture as it once did and we're seeing that There's an exodus from the church. In fact, statistics show very, very clearly that around about two-thirds of young people are leaving the church by the time they reach college age with very few returning. And we've also had America's Research Group do research on the millennials, the 20s generation that are in the church and they're very very secularized. So how do we get to this situation? You know really the Bible tells us God through his word makes it very very clear to us in 2 Corinthians 11 3 God through Paul tells us that beware lest by any means as a serpent be guided through his subtleties so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

I like to paraphrase that in this way. What it really means is beware, the devil is going to use the same method on you, on your kids, on your grandkids, on your neighbors, on your friends. He's going to use the same method on us as he did on Eve to get us to a position of not believing the things of God. So where do we go back to to find out about the method used on Eve? Well we have to go back to Genesis 3.

Genesis 3 verse 1, now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field the Lord God had made and he said unto the woman, did God really say, has God said. So here's the point, let's stand back for a moment look at it from a big picture perspective, What is God warning us? The attack is going to be on the Word of God. What was the first attack on the Word of God? Did God really say?

I call that the Genesis 3 attack and God's Word has come under attack ever since then. There's been a Genesis 3 attack down through the ages. It manifests itself in different ways in different areas of history, but it's the same attack on the Word of God. Now as you look back in history, you'll see that when God's Word comes under attack, God raises up people to call his church back to the authority of the Word of God, call people back to the authority of the Word of God. The Reformation was one such movement, a great movement where it was really a call for the church to get back to God's Word instead of imposing man's word on God's Word to building one's thinking on God's Word.

And I challenge people this way, look God warns us that the attack is going to be on the Word. That's what the attack is going to be. I call it the Genesis 3 attack. What's the Genesis 3 attack today, in today's world? Because we live in what's called a scientific age, people see science as conflicting with the Bible.

The word science is greatly misunderstood, too. There's a sort of a bait and switch in the secular world. I mean, they call evolution millions of years, molecules to man science, and then they call man using his five senses to understand properties of matter and build airplanes and computers. They call that science and there's a big difference. There's a big difference between developing technology and talking about origins and so one has to define what one means by science.

But people today believe that science supposedly has shown you can't trust the Bible and I would say that the teaching of evolution millions of years that permeates our education system permeates the media permeates the world is the genesis re-attack today but much of the church most of our Christian leaders our Christian academics our Bible colleges seminaries most of them most of our Christian colleges have in some way accommodated evolutionary ideas whether it be in geology, biology, astronomy, anthropology into the Bible and have reinterpreted God's Word in Genesis. And what that's done, it's really taught the coming generations, you don't have to start with God's Word, you can take man's ideas, man's beliefs about the past, and reinterpret the Word of God, and so we have in the church people saying, Did God really create in six days? Was it really a global flood? Did God really create male and female from the beginning? Was it really man from dust and woman from his side?

Couldn't it be man from an ape, man woman from an ape, woman? So it goes on. You
