What is an example of repentance and conversion?
Gary Powers shares in this video how God drew him to Himself. He was born in a Catholic family. In his senior year of college, he went to a small church. After the sermon, he fell on his face. The pastor was in the back and was praying for him.
He left the church knowing that his sins were forgiven and God has never allowed him to look back.
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
I could give you the story of my own life of true repentance. I think It began with God beginning to draw me. I was born in a non-Christian home, Catholic home, and really began as a senior in college to maybe hear some street preachers. We used to throw beer cans at them and mock them. Six months later, I find myself on my own, not on my own, but not being led by anybody except God in a small little church.
And I have no idea what that pastor preached on. All I know is I found myself on my face. I have no idea how long I was in the presence of God, he and I. When I got up the church was empty except the pastor in the back and he was pacing and just praying for me. And I left that church 30 years ago knowing that my sins were absolutely forgiven and God has never allowed me to look back.
