How does the "Light of the world" impact an unsaved person?

Pooyan Mershahi explains in this video that when Christ begins to shine in our souls. we may see things that we don't like to see or sins that we hadn't thought about. When God begins to shine into our hearts by the Word of God, we begin to feel awful about ourselves.

We begin to see that the things that pleased us are actually sinful in God's sight. We begin to dislike them and realize that we must humble ourselves. He brings us to our knees in repentance and faith in Christ.

John 8:12 (NKJV) - "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

When we think about the Lord Jesus Christ being the light of the world, we have to think about the effects of the light upon things. So when Christ begins to deal with us, shows to us things of Himself, of us, He begins to shine into our souls, we may see things that we don't like to see. We might find things that are horrible to us, sins that we had not thought about, how sinful they are, how dark they are, how evil they are. But when God begins to shine into our hearts by the Word of God, by the power of the Spirit, we begin to feel awful about ourselves, our nature. We begin to see that the things that we took pride in, the things that we were happy in, the things that pleased us actually are sinful and evil in God's sight.

We begin to dislike them. We begin to see that with these things we will not have heaven or God, but the Lord shows us these things so that he might cleanse us, bring us to our knees in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And so the effect of the light upon our lives then begins to display itself in seeing heaven, glory, holiness, Jesus Christ himself, His cross, the daily love of the Lord Jesus Christ, His power in life, His Word becomes more and more clear in our lives. And so it is wonderful that Christ is the light of the world.
