What is an essential element in the life of a Christian family?

Jason Dohm explains in this video that family worship is such an essential element in the life of a family. Just as Christians need to worship God, Christian families need to worship God and learn more about Him and His ways.

There is much good that comes out of this simple practice. In his family, they go around and each read several verses. They discuss what they read and they pray. The amount of benefit you get out of a simple practice is significant.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) - "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Family worship is such an essential element. A Christian should worship God. Does that even need to be said? That's probably the most fundamental statement there could be. Christians need to worship God.

And so Christian families need to worship God together. One of the beauties of family worship is how much good comes out of just a very simple practice that doesn't even require that much pre-investment. Just to gather a family around an open Bible, and In our family we go around in a circle reading verse at a time until we're out of verses. And then we pray, we talk about what was read, sometimes we sing. Simple, Any knucklehead can do it.

I think a number of us are a testament to that. The amount of benefit you get out of such a simple practice, I don't know any other single thing in the world where you get that much benefit for the investment. I could never imagine going back to a life without it, because we get so much good out of it.
