What are the consequences of indulging in sin and following the desires of an unregenerate heart?
Pooyan Mershahi explains in this video that we must remember the consequences of our choices in life. There will be an upcoming harvest. We are called not to be deceived by the way of the world. Scripture makes clear that whatever a person sows in his life, he will later reap the consequences of those choices.
We are called to not grow weary in doing good. This life may be difficult or wearisome at times, but the reward will be more than worth it. In contrast, following the desires of a sinful heart will only lead to destruction.
Galatians 6:7-9 (NKJV) - "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
When we say, do what you want, or when the society says, do that which pleases you, then you must remember the consequences. That your actions, your daily habits, will produce certain fruit in time to come, if not immediately, yet later on there will be a harvest that you will be reaping. And so we read the words of the Apostle in Galatians chapter 6 and verses 7 to 9 Be not deceived, God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap Do you not see? He says, what the man is sowing in his life, this is something that he will reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption.
So doing what you want, what your flesh wants, what your heart wants, It is a sowing to the flesh and it will be simply a worldly reaping, a fleshly reaping. But we are told, he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. So the things that you want will be one of the flesh. But if you incline your heart unto the Lord and seek the spiritual good, the spiritual things, then the Spirit of God, by the power of God, will bless it eternally to you. And let us not be weary in well-doing, The scripture says, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
So doing what you want, what we are told in our society and by the millennial thinking, will not produce a good fruit or harvest. But doing what the Lord wants may be very some at times, but it delights the soul. Thank you. Thank you.
