What is one of the most important things that families should seek after?

Rob Ventura explains that it is incredibly important that families build our homes on Scripture. The way we live our lives cannot be based on opinion or preference. If our homes are founded upon shifting opinions, our families are doomed.

We need to be in good churches that faithfully bring the Word. We must seek to be in churches where elders desire to communicate and break down the truths of Scripture to the congregation. If we build our families and churches upon God's Word,

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) - "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock."

So if we're going to build our homes on the rock, as it were, and not on sinking sand, then it has to be rooted and grounded in Scripture. Not opinion, not preference, but on the Word of God. And this goes back to what we were talking about earlier. A family devotion. A, in the home domestically, but then secondly, ecclesiastically.

We need to be in good churches. We need to be in places where the Word of God is preached line upon line, precept upon precept, 16 ounces to the pound, week in and week out. We need to be under good, solid, pastoral ministries, expository preaching ministries, with elders who are being faithful to the Word of God and are feeding us the truth again week by week, line upon line, precept upon precept. If we are not in strong churches, if we ourselves are not Christians who are daily feeding upon Christ and feeding on His Word, we're going to be weak Christians. And when that happens, there's going to be chaos in our homes, chaos with our children, and chaos in the church.

May God help us. You
