So many of our troubles come from misplaced fear. We fear man, instead of God. Craig Houston speaks of the only appropriate fear… fear of God. He recites Prov 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will keep your paths straight.” Only God is worthy of being feared.

Proverbs 3 5 & 6 says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all of thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. That means in all of our ways Fear Him. Fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Don't fear man, what man can do to you, but fear the one who holds life and breath.

And the worst that man can do is kill the body. The worst that God can do is send sinful men to hell. He's worthy of being feared. He's worthy of being obeyed. He's worthy of being trusted.
