What happens when leaders of the church do not fear God as they ought? Mala Chindongo explains in this video that one problem in the church is that often, church leaders start with an inward focus and wrongly believe that everything is all about themselves. Instead of fearing God, they have no fear of God and instead, pursue the things that build themselves up. Yet, when the whole ministry becomes about the pastor, anyone who stands in the way is seen as a threat. Thus, the entire church is tainted by this prideful church leader. So many negative consequences result because the pastor was looking at the church as his “project” instead of realizing that it is God’s church and fearing Him. James 4:6 (NKJV) – “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”

Trying to help pastors in other churches who came and wanted to either some counsel or just to have me immediate meetings. Maybe there was a lift between the pastor and a member of the church, a member of the church who feels hurt and abused. Again, the problem in the church is that sometimes you have leaders that look at everything they are doing to be about themselves because there is no fear of God and so when the whole ministry becomes about the pastor what he envisions what he wants to see what he wants to accomplish and how much glory that brings to Him. Anyone who stands in the way is abused, is ill-treated, is disciplined in the form of church discipline, which at times you find is not legitimate, it's not right, even the way it was done, or for the reasons it was done. And so a lot of abuse in the church when ministries, when pastors do not fear God and obtain the whole ministry to be about themselves.

What I've discovered is that almost all the time where people were abused is because the pastor was looking at his church as his project and not God's church.
