John Snyder explains in this video that family worship is to view the Word of God and worship Him by responding to His Word by prayer and song. As far as timing of family worship, whether you do it in the morning or evening is inconsequential so long as you are faithful to all gather together each day to worship God.
Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV) - "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."
Family worship is when a family is intentionally gathered together, you know, hopefully daily, to view the worth of God, whether it's at the four-year-old's level or the college kid's level. To view the worth of God and then worship includes not just viewing his work but then responding to it. So it may be in prayer, it may be in song, it may be just in you know Dad or mom whatever the situation is giving some guidance to the family about well If God really is the way he says he is here. How would that look if we apply that to our life? How do we show the worth of God to people around us by the way we live?
So family worship seeing the worth of God and responding to it. You know, I think that some people obviously want to do it in the morning and others do it in the evening. My family, we've tried both ways. In the morning, it's a wonderful way to set the heart on the realities to quote Amy Carmichael the missionary to help us to live on the real not just the apparent not just the surface stuff of life which so quickly grabs our attention but if it's in the evening then you know it's kind of like in my mind it's like gathering together all the loose ends of the day and all of our lives you know of everybody in the family and everything that's happened to everybody in the family and just kind of gathering it all up and bringing it all together again under the reality of our God and you know, pillowing our heads on the mercies of our Creator.
