Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that in Scripture, we see that families experienced blessing when they obeyed the things of God. Conversely, if they disobeyed God, they brought judgment upon themselves and their family and even their descendants. What kind of course are you setting for your family? Are you leading them according to the ways of God?

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (NKJV) - "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God."

The patriarchs in scripture, typically Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and other fathers of the faith within the Bible among Israel, when they listened to the word of the Lord and when they obeyed Him then they did what was pleasing to the Lord and their families benefited. They themselves benefited and they incurred blessings from God as a result of their obedience. But when they failed to do as God had commanded, then they would not incur those blessings. They would rather bring judgment on themselves, condemnation on their family, their posterity. At the end of the day, it's no different for us in our day.

It comes down to, will we believe what the Word of God says? Will we implement it in our own lives? Will we apply it in every area of our lives? And are we willing to walk with God, seeking to keep His Word across the board? No if, ands or buts, just seeking to please Him in every respect.
