Tom Ford explains in this video that in Deuteronomy 6, if fathers do not love the law of God, they will not be teaching it to their children. It is important that our children are taught to fear God. But, it starts with a father. It is their responsibility to train their children up in the ways of God.
Colossians 3:16 (NKJV) - "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
There in Deuteronomy 6 we're given real direction in terms of the Father taking the law of God which is in His own heart and that's important. If it's not in our heart, the children know it and it has no effect. It must be in our heart. We must have loved the Lord of our God with all our heart, mind, body, and soul. And from there it gives us a method that we would walk with our children, we would sit with our children, and when they rise and when they lie down, that we would always be teaching them the law of God and demonstrate that before them.
You know, and if we're not doing it, somebody is. Somebody is walking with your children. Somebody, they are talking to your children. It's important that they are led by their father and their mother and that they're taught to fear God.
