David Fry explains in this video that it can be easy for a mother to be discouraged. It can be helpful to remember the mercies of God and be glad for God's mercy in allowing them to be within a Christian home. If she has difficulty in dealing with her husband, she can pray for him and seek out older women as mentors.

Romans 15:13 (NKJV) - "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

How can a discouraged mother be encouraged in the dailiness of raising children, in the dailiness of family life and keeping the home? And I think first of all is to think of it in a relative sense. Be glad that God has given you a context of godliness and spirituality in the home, as opposed to the opposite. You could be in a home where the Bible, where godliness is not represented at all. And so be thankful for God in His great mercy that He allowed you to be in a home like that.

Now if a mother is not necessarily, and has really questions and concerns about her husband, I would just say several things. One is to pray for her husband. First Peter two is real clear about how a woman is to proceed and act if she understands that her husband may not be a Christian. So pray for him. Ask God to help you use kind words, encouraging words, uplifting words.

Secondly, look for women who can disciple you and help you in this regard. That's really important from Titus 2, that a woman who is discouraged has this help from other women. So there isn't anything like having godly associates to pray for you and to give counsel. I would also say that you know discouragement can come in day after day after day so the monotony of life is something that attacks everyone And so just understand that there is always hope, there is always tomorrow, that God gives us hopeful instances in the scriptures. He gives us the scriptures and the Psalms to be able to get through certain days.

So read the scriptures, go to the scriptures, ask your husband for encouragement.
