Malamulo Chindongo explains in this video that if a child is questioning the faith of his or her parents, the child should realize that God has given you a gift. He has given you parents that care and love for you. Second, the child needs to consider what Christ has done. If you are questioning the faith of your parents, then what is the alternative?
Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) - "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
What would I say to a child that's growing up but at the same time just questioning the faith of their parents? So he looks at all the things that he was provided for to do with the faith, the family's dedication to the things of God. And I'm assuming that we're thinking about families that are faithfully honoring God with their lives, both mother and father and probably other siblings. But it's just a child that's just wondering, whether is this for me? I think that the most important thing to remember is that first of all, God has given you a gift, has given you loving parents, caring parents who have sought to give you the best as much as they can.
And then secondly, you have to ask yourself, first of all, consider what your parents are doing, consider Christianity, consider what Christ has done. I always use the word investigate Jesus and up until you found him wanting then seek an alternative but the question is always if you are questioning you the faith of your parents and the things that they have handed down to you. What's the alternative?
