Clarence Simmons explains in this video that in regards to parenting, as our children get older, parents can sometimes fail to communicate and seek to know how their children are doing and what they are thinking. We have to be intentional about caring for our children in this way. Parenting God's way is hard work -- yet, we cannot be idle in this area.

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) - "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

I think in parenting, not only assuming your children know certain things, but then when they reach a certain age, you stop telling them certain things. In other words, you stop communicating to find out exactly what's going on in their minds and it's the same thing actually with marriage you have to keep communication going on with your children. That's the only way you are going to know how your children are thinking, young or old. It has to constantly be that way in honor of the child. Better because you can pick up on certain things in your children because they're different, But you can pick up on certain things.

I think at times we let certain issues go that we shouldn't let go We let certain sinful behaviors go instead of coming in a gracious way and applying the Word of God To that situation sweetheart. We don't do this because God said this. And I think we at times, we kind of just let things go. We let the children kind of do what they want to do because it gets intense. And what I mean by that, parenting God's way is hard work.

And sometimes we just don't wanna do the work. We don't wanna do the work, so we kinda say, well, I just let them do what they wanna do, and that's bad thinking. We have to constantly be molding and shaping our children to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord in every way.
