Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that if parents have a child in the home that is questioning their lifestyle or Christianity in general, be patient and loving. Remind them that you haven't been a perfect parent but that you have sought to do things according to Scripture. Open Scripture with your child and show them what Scripture says.

2 Peter 1:19-20 (NKJV) - "And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation."

I think if parents are dealing with an older young man, an older lady, a child in the home who is questioning their faith, questioning their lifestyle, questioning Christianity altogether, I think don't be too discouraged. Be patient and loving and open up the Bible with your child and show them what God's word says. Show them how you've responded. Remind them how you've responded throughout their life at different times. Explain to them that you haven't done everything perfectly, but you've sought to do things according to the Scriptures, that the Scripture has been your guide.

You've sought to make it your guide for how you've raised them and the decisions that you make in your own life. So that you're, you aren't necessarily saying, do Christianity this way because this is the way mom and dad have done it, but you're saying This is what God says. We've sought to obey him.
