Trent Moody explains in this video that fathers set the culture of the home for their family. Accordingly, they need to take this responsibility seriously. Fathers ought be talking to God about their family and be praying that He would give them wisdom and bring their chidlren to salvation. Fathers need to stand for truth but they also need to be loving, tender, and kind.

Psalm 103:13 (NKJV) - "As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him."

Just again, we set the culture of our home and we need to take that job very seriously. We need to be on our faces before the Lord and we need to be calling out to God for our children and for our wives. God has given us whatever family you have, that is the family God ordained for you to have. And you need to spend, you should be talking to God about your family the very first thing in the morning, calling out to God on your knees before the Lord, that he would work grace and truth into their hearts and that God would bring them to salvation and that their experience when they leave the home that their experience would be one of delight and joy and fond memories. Not one of rigidity and just, boy, dad was just one that just really hammered everything all the time.

We need to stand for truth. We need to correct and discipline as we see fit, but we also need to be one who is loving and kind. I want my children to always know they can always come and climb in daddy's lap and daddy will always be here to listen to them and to love them and try to guide them through whatever they may be facing.
