Stephen Hopkins explains in this video that one of the ways that families can support the local church is by tithing and being faithful to tithe. Just like a family who lacks resources is limited in their capabilities, so is a church whose members fail to tithe. Whatever gifts, time, or resources God has given to you, we are to be good stewards of it and use it to bless the Church and serve God.

Proverbs 3:9 (NKJV) - "Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase."

One of the ways that families can support churches is by tithing, is by being faithful to tithe. How are we going to advance the kingdom of God? How are we going to work for that which God commands us to do in the church if you don't have the resources? You know, and a family may have resources for all kinds of other things, but you don't have resources for the most important thing? You know, I'm trying to think of, I believe it was John Calvin that said, listen, everything that has been given to you has been given to you on the condition, and I'm paraphrasing, on the condition that you use it for Christ's church.

And it's not just monetary, but everything He's given you. You know, whatever He's given you, whatever giftings He's given you, whatever time He's given you, whatever resources God has given you, He's given it to you on the condition that you will use it for the benefit of his church. And I think that's absolutely right. And if we had that type of a mentality, wow, the church militant, okay, let's go. Let's do this work, you know?

Let's take some ground for the kingdom under Christ's leadership.
