Trent Moody explains in this video that we see that God says that children are a blessing from the Lord even in the first book of the Bible -- Genesis. Scripture everywhere speaks positively of children. They are to be seen by us a blessing and not a curse or a hindrance.

Psalm 127:3-5 (NKJV) - "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate."

We see that God says that children are a blessing from the Lord. We see it in Genesis chapter 1. God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and to fill the earth. So God's desire is that there be many offspring, that there be many children to raise up the next generation of children. And ultimately that was what God's plan through the seed of the woman was to bring Christ into this earth to crush the head of Satan.

And that is what he did. But he used these natural means of fruitfulness of the womb. And so the scripture everywhere speaks positively of this. It is something that we as Christians should embrace. We should look forward to it.

We should long for it. But I would say this, not longing in an unbiblical way or in an idolatrous way, we know that the Lord opens and closes the womb according to his discretion. He is all wise. Just like in the case of Zacharias and Elizabeth. The Lord had closed her womb for many years, but then through much prayer and at God's appointed time, he opened her womb and blessed them with this wonderful child who was going to be a forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ.

So in the scriptures, we would see the negative of that as well. We see only the pagans, only those who were God haters destroying life. But we see those who were loving towards God and faithful towards God, they embrace life and they embrace children.
