Are you content with where God has you as a pastor or even as a father? Are you seeking to thrive exactly where God has placed you?

Glorifying God has nothing to do with becoming famous or wealthy. In fact, Hensworth Jonas explains that God has called many of us to live humble lives. 

For those who are pastors, they need to nurture the sheep that He has put under their charge. Each one of the sheep are to be nurtured, developed, and discipled according to the Word of God. The wealth or prestige of those in the congregation is inconsequential in the eyes of God and we should view it the same way as well. Are you seeking to thrive where God has planted you or are you continuously envious of other congregations?

Don’t be focused on making a name for yourself. Be content with the church that God has blessed you with as a pastor. Even if the church is small, the importance of the task that God has called you to does not become less important.

 The same idea also applies to fathers. Regardless of the size of their family, they are to faithfully bring the Word of God to their family. They shouldn’t do this so other families admire them. Instead, they should pray with their family and read Scripture as a family because God commands it. 

Philippians 4:11-13 (NKJV) - “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Glorifying God has nothing to do with statistical advancement, whether monetarily or in terms of numerical leave, because God has called many of us to obscurity. You need to nurture each child as a precious gift of God. And so each shepherd needs to nurture the sheep that God has put under his charge, whether there are 10 of them or 100 of them or 500 of them or whatever, and make sure that each one of the sheep are nurtured and developed, discipled according to God's Word. There were times that I thought I needed to push things a little bit more so that my Ministry could be worldwide. I learned a long time ago, just relax and God will take you where you need to go.

He will expose you to who needs to see you and God's people will tell you what they need. I mean, if someone hears me and say, you know what, I need your help. You know, I'm going through this in my church. Come and preach a series for me. You know, that's a lot better than me passing out cards or trying to do this self promotion thing and turning the ministry into prostitution, where we end up, uh, being ends up becoming self promotion and an attempt to make a name for yourself rather than a name for Christ.

As a matter of fact, we may be nurturing the one who God will put on the international scene. We better do a good job. There's somebody emerges into prominence who is not ready and we may have failed because we didn't stay home in that little town and teach that disciple that person adequately and he needs all of his children taken care of No parent is going to agonize that his family is too big or his family is too small. No, whatever family God gives you. To the older guy, especially to the guy who was in a small church somewhere and he's been there for years and hasn't seen a lot of growth and the kind of things that the celebrity preachers boast of.

I say to that old preacher, relax, concentrate on faithfulness, not on fruitfulness. When you're faithful you'll be a fruit, you
