What are some common characteristics of the current generation?
Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that some of the characteristics that he has seen in this current generation is that children and teens often have low attention spans and demonstrate a poor work ethic. There also is a problem with the youth of the current generation denying that there is absolute truth amongst this generation.
The world is constantly telling them that there is no absolute truth because there is no God. If we want to help this current generation, we need to return to Scripture and teach them what God requires. The only way to overcome unbelief and sin is through the Gospel of Christ.
Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV) - "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."
Generally speaking, the millennial generation tends to have very short attention spans due to social media and other types of media that they have been exposed to. Also, from my perspective with regard to the Millennials that I have been in close contact with, many of them have very poor work ethics. There's a problem with absolute truth among that generation because our culture is constantly telling them that whatever they think is okay, however they feel is fine, that there are no absolutes, there are no expectations, because there is no God. If we're going to offer any type of help to the millennial generation, or any generation for that matter, we're going to have to get back to the clear truths that we find on the pages of our Bibles. What does God say about mankind?
Mankind is still in the same situation since we fell in the garden. When original sin happened, it affected us all and we have not overcome it yet. The only way to overcome it is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. The way to reach the millennial generation and to remedy all of the issues that they may have that whether particular to that generation or not the only real option for them is the gospel of Jesus Christ, for them to repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone. Thank you.
