What is something that will contribute to greater harmony within the home?

Sam Waldron explains in this video that it is important to keep short accounts within the home and practice love and forgiveness towards those that wrong us.

We are to forgive a spouse or sibling as Christ forgave us. Luke 17:4 (NKJV) says, "And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him."

John 13:34 (NKJV) - "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

I want to stress, I think, the importance of our Lord's normative teaching on maintaining healthy relationships in the home. And I think the principles he gives us in Luke 17, three and four are very important and need to be carefully implemented in a Christian home in order to maintain a healthy family life and healthy relationships. And what I'm talking about here is especially Luke 17, three and four, be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times today and returns to you seven times, saying, I repent, forgive him, the apostles said to the Lord, increase our faith." Now, I think the original context and focus of these words is certainly on the issue of how we treat our brothers in Christ.

But in a Christian home, we are brothers in Christ and we maintain relationships that are supposed to be ordered on the basis of the Word of God. And this passage gives us a crucial call to maintain short accounts of one another in the home.
