How is the Gospel and the Word of God central to our lives?
Mike Davenport explains in this video that the Gospel and the Word of God impacts all areas of the life of a believer. The Gospel is central to fathers, mothers, and spouses and will apply in all areas of life.
Scripture and the Gospel is central not only to us as individuals but also families. Accordingly, we must allow God's Word to direct every area of our life.
Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) - "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
When we talk about the gospel and the Word of God, it is the centrality for all believers in every walk of life. It's not just for the sacred, it's for what is considered secular as well. And so if it's the centrality of such for us as individuals, be we, whether we be fathers or mothers or children, then certainly the gospel and the word of God are the centrality of those members as they come together into that family unit. If the gospel and the word of God is central to me as a man, as a father, and as a husband, then that centrality of the word of God and the gospel are going to find its way into my relation with my wife. And it's going to find that relation with my family as well.
And so, yes, the Word of God and the gospel are so central to us as individuals and to us as a family unit as we come together as a group of individuals.
