What is some encouragement for a parent if they feel anxious about leading family worship?

Clarence Simmons explains in this video that it is vitally important to keep the Word of God in front of their family. One things their family has done is to put tunes to Scripture passages they read so the younger children can remember it easier. They let their older children read parts of the Scripture passage or pick a hymn to sing. It's not as difficult for a family to do family worship as it may seem.

Leading family worship doesn't require a seminary degree. The main things are to pray and read Scripture. You may be surprised how even your young children can pick up different things you discuss.

Malachi 4:6 (NKJV) - "And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."

I think with family worship it's vitally important to keep the word of God before our family and just thinking of it along the lines that a father or even a mother at times you're not preparing a sermon. You read the word, pray the word, sing the word. I don't think you can get any simpler than that. One of the things we've done, I've put little tunes to the scriptures for the children when we're small, so you can catch on quickly to things like that. We let the different ones read and be involved, even picking hymns the same, even praying.

And so it's not something as difficult as it seems or even as it sounds. I think sometimes men tend to think I need either a theological degree or something like that. No, you just need the word of God and the Spirit of God. You read to your family, you pray with your family and sing with your family. And it's just a simplistic way of the scriptures.

You'd be surprised how the little ones pick up these things as we instill God's truths into your hearts. You
