What is something that the young people must hear?

Dr. Joel Beeke explains in this video that it is important for parents and church leaders to teach young adults that life ought to be taken seriously and that we each must be intentional about living our life for Christ. We all are on our way to eternity. Heaven and Hell are both at stake. It is a serious life and not something to be taken flippantly.

We must stress the importance of grounding everything in Scripture. We as parents should lead by example. We must stress the importance of integrity and not taking life casually. God demands holiness and the Gospel, while free, demands our entire life.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world."

When it comes to understanding and properly responding to what's been called the millennial mindset, which takes life more glibly than older generations. I think it's critical that both parents and church leaders teach young adults, younger generation, the important seriousness of life. We're traveling to eternity, life is serious, the day of judgment is serious, death is serious, heaven and hell are at stake in terms of how we live so this is a very very serious life. What we need to do is we need to stress with this generation the importance of being able to ground everything that we believe in the Scriptures and we really need to stress with our own example of life but also with our teaching of them, the importance of integrity, walking with integrity before God, and not cutting corners, not taking life casually, but life is serious, God demands holiness, The gospel is free to sinners, but it's not a cheap gospel in the sense that it demands our entire life. And so the whole idea of David when he said, give me a single eye, thy name to glorify.

And we glorify God, of course, when we walk in obedience and submission to Him. That the millennial generation really needs to hear repeatedly.
