How do fathers teach their young children about sin?
Mike Davenport explains in this video that children have inherited a sin nature from Adam. It was through the sin of Adam that sin was passed down. We were born with a sin nature and our children were also born with a sin nature.
When we see our children and see them sin, we must understand that we each are born in sin. Fathers need to point them to Christ and explain how He perfectly obeyed His Father. He was without sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) - "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
We can understand the importance of the role of a father in bringing a seed into the world, understanding that this child he has brought into this world has inherited a sin nature from him. It's through the seed of Adam, it's passed through the seed of a man from one generation to another generation to another generation. We see this in the Gospels as we see Jesus Christ and we see how it's traced back and yet Jesus was born of a virgin. But We see in there that sea that was passed from one generation to another. It was through the sin of Adam that sin is passed down.
So when we look at our children and we see them and they sin, We need to see and to understand it was a sin nature that we passed down to them from Adam, that we inherited from Adam and we passed down to them. And it's important for us as fathers to seek to minister to our children, to point them to Jesus Christ and to say, that's a sin my son, that's a sin my daughter. And I'm pointing you to Jesus Christ who was a son himself and he obeyed perfectly His Father in heaven. And because He obeyed perfectly, you
