How should Christians view the entertainment industry?

Jason Dohm explains in this video that when we think of the entertainment industry and the people who work within that industry, those individuals oftentimes have open enmity towards the Lord. This ought to trouble you as a Christian and make you nervous about casually taking in the world's entertainment.

Everyone has a worldview and that is bound to bleed into the work that movie producers or actors do. Christians should be cautious of the things that come out of the entertainment industry. We should be careful to not partner with them.

1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV) - "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."

You know, when we think of the entertainment industry and what's being produced, when you peel back the curtain a little bit and start looking at the people who are acting in them, the people that are producing them. These are not people that love the Lord. In fact, in many, many cases there are people that have enmity, open, open, unhidden enmity towards the Lord. I don't know how that cannot trouble you. I don't know how that can make you a little nervous about imbibing that.

Because of course, our worldview, our view of how the world works and who governs it, does a man govern it or is there a transcendent God who governs it? If you think that people can produce two-hour-long things and not have that bleed into the content, you're just not thinking rightly about it. Christians have more of a call, more of a reason to be judicious about these things and skeptical and cautious and wary of the things that are coming out of the entertainment industry. They hate our God. They hate our God.

And we should be really careful not to be partnering with those who hate the Lord.
