How does family worship draw the family close together?

Pooyan Mershashi explains family worship has many positive benefits. It brings us into the presence of God. It is a time for healing, conviction, and growth. It is a time where a family can praise God.

It is an opportunity for a family to discuss spiritual topics together. Relationships within the family can also be restored during this time. When a husband, wife, and children can meet together and pray, confess sins, and spend time studying Scripture, their relationships can be restored.

James 5:16 (NKJV) - "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

The worship of God in the home, it does many things to the individuals who are taking part, to the husband, to the wife, to the children. Because what the worship of God does, it brings us into the presence of God. And with our Bibles open, the Word of God speaks to the family. It produces comfort. It produces praise.

It heals the soul. It restores us. It convicts us. It challenges us. It rebukes us.

And all of those things can be dealt with in the home. And we can discuss those things together. And so it is that the family is being built up on the right foundation. We are able to honestly speak about things that we need. And also when sins are to be confessed, when faults are to be described and explained, then the family can pray over those things and so the relationships are restored as well in the home.

What a wonderful thing it is for children to confess their faults to one another and then to pray for one another. When a husband and a wife can confess their faults with one another at the beginning of the day or at the close of the day or throughout the day at the different times and then to pray for one another. Then they are restored. When they confess their sins to God, their relationship is restored with the Lord as well and God's blessing is upon it. We find ourselves at every family worship at the foot of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the only saviour and we find that His blood cleanses us from all sin.
