What is one of the keys to raising godly children?

Gary Powers explains in this video that one of the greatest hindrances of raising children who love God are angry fathers who act harshly towards their children. It is easy to be upset, but fathers ought to strive to be encouraging to their children and supportive.

Fathers need to be gentle and not so intense or critical. We need to love our children. It is one of the keys in the home to raising godly children.

Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV) - "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."



I think when it comes to child raising, I'd probably tell you more of the things not to do than what to do. I think one of the greatest hindrances to a father's effect on his children is anger and harshness. I think the more gentle that we are with them, the more encouraging that we can be. My natural tendency is to be critical and I have to work very hard and not being critical but I'm trying to always encourage trying to build up and to be gentle and to not be so intense and I think lots of love just loving our children just just and discipline of course but I think love is the key in the home.
