You know we began this conference really remembering the name of this conference, Your Word is Truth. And we began speaking of the fact that God leads his church by his words. He uses words to describe everything and these matters of gender, these matters of sexuality, these matters of justice and oppression and rights, all these things actually have words in scripture to keep us from the heretical, actually demonic movements that take place in our world. And my view is that the things that Anthony has just communicated really represented a demonic influence in the church today. But it all goes back to the garden.

Eve, do you want some cooler, hipper words to define your life? And you can trace the movement of the works of the devil all throughout history by the words that are being used in a culture and how the words of God come to correct those things. And in just a moment Jason Dohme is going to come and he's going to speak about the words that describe what an elder should do. It's those words that define what we do. You know, People started using words like executive pastor or pastor of preaching or all these different kinds of terms.

Even senior pastor is one of those invention words. We've gotten in a lot of trouble by saying what is a youth pastor anyway? Where, does the Bible use that kind of terminology to speak of elders, of people who preach the word of God? So, you know, we adopt language from our culture, from the great movements that take place. And, you know, the whole purpose of the ministry of the NCFIC is to say that scripture is sufficient.

It's sufficient for church and family life. And You know, as Jason comes up and speaks about this matter of elders, I want you to understand that the words that the apostle Paul uses in Acts chapter 20 are fixed. They are binary. They define, they limit, and they explain exactly what elders are supposed to do. And we should be bound and limited by those things.

And, you know, for me, you know, the greatest desire of my heart as I seem to be getting older in this world is really to see a rising generation embrace the words. And you know chief on my mind is the assembling of a network of churches that believe that scripture really is sufficient. They really believe it and they're willing to be bound by it, they're willing to be limited by it and therefore set free by it to know exactly what they ought to do in the world. My desire is that there would be biblically ordered churches and biblically ordered families left behind in this world that's getting washed over by every possible movement. By the way, this social justice movement and this sexuality movement isn't going to be the last one.

It really, it stands in the long line of movements. And even in most recent history in my lifetime, The church was overtaken by a whole wave of what people called the seeker-sensitive movement. And then right behind it, you know, was the emergent church. And now you have another one in mainstream evangelicalism. And every time this has happened, the pattern repeats.

Those who reject that scripture is sufficient, they end up in non-Christianity. They end up without the Bible. That's what happened with the seeker sensitive movement. That's what happened with the emergent church movement. And you'll probably see the very same thing happen.

The people that don't embrace the idea that scripture is sufficient, and particularly that they are held and bound by historic confessions of faith, those people will find themselves on a trajectory of non-Christianity. That's what happens. It's not a small thing when people begin to replace the words, it's not small at all. When someone says, I am SSA, you have to understand what that means. It means that they have rejected the definitions of the Word of God.

They have rejected God. Now they may not even know it, But they have because they have brought replacement terminology. But Jesus said, your word is truth. Sanctify them by the truth. And I'm so grateful that we're gathered here and I've had such a delight over the last years to gather with men like you.

One of the most important parts of this, I think, is that there are so many young pastors here or pastors to be. You know, Bob and I are, you know, typically 20 years older than the average person in this room. And our greatest heart's desire is to pass the baton to the next generation. But here's one thing we know. The baton of the gospel of Jesus Christ will not be passed unless you have men who love the words.

And not just are willing to be bound and set free by the words, But men who love the words, they love those words. And they love them so much that they're willing to be part of that crowd under the throne of God in Revelation. And they're crying out and they're saying, Lord, how long, how long will it be before you vindicate? And who are those people? They died for the words.

They died for the words. So I praise God for so many young men here. These words are true. And He is a beautiful Savior. And He's the only Savior.

And there is only one word of truth in the world and it is the Word of God. In that sense our our work in our life is very simple there is one Savior and there is only one authority in the world, and that is Jesus Christ and His word.
