How does Christ intercede on our behalf?
John Latham explains in this video that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father constantly making intercession for us. The Son of God has been exalted and has been given all power and authority.
It is a beautiful picture of God's continuing love and mercy for us. Christ died on the cross and lives to make intercession.
Romans 8:34 (NKJV) - "Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us."
Romans 8 speaks of Christ sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. What a glorious picture and promise that is that there at the right hand was the seat of power where the Son of God has been exalted and given all power and authority. So it both shows us that Christ has ability and power to intercede, to help, to aid His people. And that as He is interceding, He is pleading on our behalf there for us with words that are mighty and powerful, words that are tender and compassionate, with words of grace. And again, on our behalf as our high priest, this beautiful picture of God's continuing love and mercy toward us as not only Christ interceded on the cross but still lives to make intercession.
