How does Christ help us understand God?

John Snyder explains in this video that John says in His Gospel that the Father was manifested to us. Christ pulled back the veil on the Father and man understood who God really was. 

John 1:1-3 (NKJV) states, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." Christ made the Father clear to us. He helps us to understand who God is. 

1 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) - "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory."

When John says that in his first chapter in his gospel, he uses a wonderful little Greek word that was used by the Greeks in other ways. It kind of gives us a good picture. He manifested, He explained, He revealed the Father to us. It's the same word that was used when an artist would finish some great work of art and it would be veiled and then he would pull back the veil and everyone would see the work of art for the first time. Christ pulled back the veil on the Father and man understood who God really was.

It's also a word that was used of a lawyer who you would bring him a legal phrase in a document and you're confused and he would explain it or make it clear. Christ made the Father clear to us. Or of a poet who wrote a beautiful poem and as you're reading it you don't understand a phrase and he sits down beside you and he goes through it. It's also used of a person who had a bucket on a long rope and he would drop the bucket down into a well and bring water up.
