How does Christ give us hope?

John Latham explains in this video that whatever comes our way, we have a Savior who loves us, has saved us, and is sanctifying us. This knowledge has impacted his family and his church that Christ is risen. 

We serve a Savior who is still saving people. In the taking of the Lord's Supper, we remember that we have been saved through the body of Christ. We remember that we have been saved by Him. 

Hebrews 2:14-15 (NKJV) - "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."

The nature and ministry of Christ on my family has been profound. I don't know how any family, any husband or father or mom or wife, I don't know how anyone has a family that survives without constantly throwing themselves at the mercy of the Savior. To know that there is one who so loves us that he was willing to give his own life, that he might save us from what we deserve. To know that love, to experience that love, and then to walk in that love, and to know that not only has he saved us and to walk in the joy of that, but to know that He still saves us, that we still need every day to be saved, not from condemnation and hell that He's already saved us from, but from ourselves, from the world, from the temptations of the devil, that to know as a family that whatever comes our way, whatever trials or temptations that we have a Savior who loves us, who has given Himself for us, who is sanctifying us, who will be there for us, whatever the trial, whatever the failing, and He continues to save us. And then the hope that he has promised to ultimately save us until the point of resurrection and glory.

He continues and will continue to save. Certainly the knowledge also has greatly affected our church. To know that we have a risen Savior. And so every Sunday we gather it's supposed to be and most often is a time of joy and rejoicing to remind one another that we serve a risen Savior who is still saving. That we have been saved, we are being saved.

At our church, we're blessed that every Sunday we take the Lord's Supper. So that every Sunday, if not in the songs hopefully and in the preaching hopefully, but in that taking of the supper, we remember that we have been saved, and not of ourselves, because we could not, but through the broken body and the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We remember that there is a Savior, and we profess that we have been saved by Him, and we remember that and do that until He comes back to proclaim His death until He comes again to fully and finally save us as His people.
