What does it mean that Christ is our Savior?

Paul Thompson explains in this video that we frequently say that "Jesus is my Savior." However, how often do we consider what we are saved from? Before we can call Him our Savior, we must consider what He has saved us from. 

It is not just a fancy term or a term of endearment. It is because He is literally standing as our Savior. He saved us from our sin and from eternal separation from God.

John 14:6 (NKJV) - "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

So we use this term a lot, Jesus is my Savior. And it's lost on us because we don't know what we're being saved from, if we're not being biblical in matters. So we'll call Jesus our Savior but the true believer must understand before he can call Jesus his Savior he needs to understand what he's been saved from. He's been saved from the wrath of God. And So to call Jesus a Savior comes from a position of a different reality.

It's not just a fancy term that we give to Jesus. It's not a term of endearment we give to Jesus. It's because He's literally standing as our Savior.
