How is Christ our Good Shepherd?
Rob Ventura explains in this video that Christ is our Good Shepherd. He is the faithful shepherd who leads His sheep to good pastures. He is our shepherd who leads and guides us. He will always feed us.
Psalm 23:1-4 (NKJV) - "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
When Jesus speaks about being the Good Shepherd, again he's taking analogies from the Old Testament, as God being the Shepherd of his people. But he is the Good Shepherd, he's the faithful shepherd who leads his sheep in good pastures. Jesus says, I go before the sheep. So when we think about Him being the good shepherd, of course, you think about that in the Psalms, the shepherd Psalms, it means that He is our shepherd who leads us and who guides us. It means that He is the one who will always feed us with the finest wheat of the Word.
Again, as sheep we need a shepherd, and He is not only the good shepherd, He's the great shepherd of His people. You
