How does the Resurrection provide hope to suffering individuals?

John Latham explains in this video that the Resurrection and the Ascension of Christ has had a great impact upon the church that he pastors. 

He shares that there have been several tragic deaths and individuals who struggle with chronic illnesses. One of the ways they comfort each other is by meditating on the truth of the Resurrection. Because Christ lives, we can face whatever happens in this life.  

Revelations 21:4 (NKJV) - "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

The resurrection of the ascension of Christ has had a great impact on our church like any church. We've been through heartache and trials. We've had children, little children that have been able to die. We've had a new number of people that are sick with serious ongoing chronic illnesses. We certainly have had others who have passed away.

And as a church, you grapple with these things and you cry together and weep together and you comfort one another. And one of the ways that we comfort each other is that in the truth of the resurrection and the ascension that our our Redeemer lives and because he lives we can we can face whatever comes and we encourage one another. This is Paul exhorts to do in his letter to the Church of Thessalonica. He speaks of the resurrection, ascension of Christ. He speaks of us as a church being gathered to Christ and he says, encourage one another with these words.

As a church, as we've dealt with heartache and difficulty, We have encouraged one another by the hope of our salvation in Christ, and by the joy of the resurrected life that we share with Him. You
