What is an example of the Gospel's transformative work?

Rob Ventura explains that before he was saved, he met some Christians who gave him a Bible. He realized that he was a sinner and that he was in no way righteous. He was ultimately brought to the cross and looked to Christ alone for salvation. 

As a result of being born again, his life was radically transformed. He wasn’t raised in a Christian home. He never heard of John 3:16 until he was 22 years old. When he finally heard the Gospel, his life was radically converted. The things that he never loved, he began to love. Similarly, the things that he used to love, he began to hate. In short, his life was transformed.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Jesus said the Spirit will come and convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come. And I started feeling like I had offended someone, like something was wrong with my life, someone was breathing down my neck, and I had no idea where that was coming from and then finally I met some Christians and they gave me a Bible and I started reading my Bible and I saw that the God that I thought him and I were like this, were actually like this, were very far apart and that he was angry at me because my sins were stinking in his nostril all the day long but he was drawing me really out of myself and drying up all the wells of pleasure as it were to finally bring me to the feet of the cross as I saw it in the Word of God to look to Jesus Christ alone as my only hope for life and salvation. So what happened in my life as a result of being born again? Well, my life was radically transformed. Paul says if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

And I wasn't raised in a Christian home. I have a Jewish father, I have a Roman Catholic mother. I never heard John 3.16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. I never heard that verse until I was 22 years old. I was a complete pagan.

Again, living in New York City, I was in the music industry for years and again when I finally heard the gospel of God granting me repentance towards him and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, my life was radically converted so that the things that I never loved like righteousness and truth in the gospel I began to love and the things that I used to love like sin and unrighteousness I began to hate. So my life was completely transformed 25 years ago and I can say that till this day 25 years later it's it's been the same. My life has been transformed out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son.
