How is Christ our justifier?

Paul Thompson explains in this video that because we are sinners, we are unable to save ourselves. Christ is our justifier and He alone is righteous - we are not.  

When we are brought before the Judge, Christ has done the justifying work and we are able to stand in the presence of God because we have been justified in Christ. Because of Him, we can have peace with God. 

Romans 5:1-2 (NKJV) – “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Because we're sinners, we are insufficient in an ability to save ourselves. So the New Testament, the language of the Bible regularly picks up banking-type terms. And so for an account that is insufficient in funds needs to be justified, needs to be brought into proper standards. So Jesus, if you will, stands as a justifier where we are insufficient in our ability to be righteous. Paul tells us there's none of us who are righteous, not even one of us.

So that shows us that we are all together insufficient or our our righteous account has nothing in it So it's going to be necessary for Christ to justify us So for him to justify us he has to deposit something in us that doesn't exist and that's his righteousness. So that at the end of the moment when we're brought before the judge and we're accounted for of our righteousness and prior to Christ and His marker on our life, we are insufficient and would be right for the judge, for God Almighty, to pour His wrath upon us. But when we come before Him justified, now with a full satisfied bank account, if you will, of just of righteousness. Christ has done this justifying work for us and now we stand before God able to stay in his presence because we are or we have been justified in Christ.
