What can we learn about the growth of the Kingdom of God?

Marcus Serven explains in this video that Christ calls people to be disciples in His kingdom. When He said that the “Kingdom of God is at hand,” He is initiating the development and growth of the Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God begins like a mustard seed and grows through time, ultimately becoming that large bush so that the birds of the air come and nest in it. It will grow and penetrate to every part of the world. Even now, His kingdom is expanding. Even though things may seem dismal to us now, the reality is that all of God's enemies will be put under His footstool.

Matthew 4:17 (NKJV) – “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

One of the important elements of the life of the Lord Jesus is His call to be disciples in His kingdom. And We all remember when Jesus starts his public ministry he says the time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand repent and Believe in the gospel when he says the kingdom of God is at hand Jesus is initiating the growth and the development of the kingdom. It starts off as a small little seed, like a mustard seed, but then it grows through time and it becomes that large bush so that the birds of the air make their nests in it. He's using that figure or that analogy to show the progress of the kingdom of God through time and space and history. It starts out very small.

It's imperceptible to all of us. We can't even see it at times as it grows and expands. But surely and certain, the Bible tells us that the kingdom of God will grow and penetrate into every dark corner of the world. So that every place in the world will know the gospel of Jesus Christ. And in that way, we see the prophecy of Psalm 110 where it says, sit at my right hand, the Lord says to my Lord, until I make your enemies your footstool." God's kingdom is expanding.

All the enemies of Jesus Christ and of God are being placed under the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. And it's with that assurance that we can know that the kingdom of Christ is expanding and growing throughout this world and we can have great confidence that even though things might seem dismal to us, the reality is that God is going forth with the kingdom of Jesus Christ and putting all the enemies of Jesus under His footstool.
