How was Christ's humility rewarded?
John Snyder explains in this video that we see the reward of Christ’s humility in Hebrews. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Christ is the Lord. It is a wonderful picture that we also see in 1 Corinthians 15 where the Father has placed everything under Christ’s feet.
Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) – “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
We see it all through his life and then we see the reward of his humility. Philippians tells us that because of this humility the Father exalts him to his right hand and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus, particularly the mediator, the redeemer, is the Lord. But a wonderful picture again of this in 1 Corinthians 15 is where at the end of all time, where the Father has placed all under the feet of His Son as a reward of His suffering, the Son's humility again is seen, where He takes all the kingdom and He hands it over to the Father so that all might recognize the Father as the great fountainhead of all this redemption and worship Him as all in all.
