What can we learn about the Trinity?

John Latham explains in this video that the Trinity has always existed in perfect union, love, and fellowship. The relationship between Father, Spirit, and Son is a profound mystery. 

We cannot really truly grasp this relationship between the Trinity. For instance, the Son has always been the Son of the Father, but He is not created and He is not somehow lesser than God. The relationship has never changed.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV) - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen."

In eternity past, the Father, Son, and Spirit have always been there in perfect union, in perfect love and fellowship. The Son has eternally been the Son, the Spirit has eternally been the Spirit, the Father has eternally been the Father. That relationship that the Scriptures speak of, that's a profound mystery to us. In eternity past, Jesus has been the Son, lovingly walking with and relating with his father and with the Spirit and in eternity past and even on into creation working and unified and perfect unity and love as the Godhead. The relationship between God the Father and God the Son both pre-incarnate and incarnate is very similar.

The Son of God has eternally been the Son. He didn't become the Son at the incarnation or at some point in creation. The scriptures speak of him as the only begotten of the Father, as eternally preceding from the Father. Now we cannot with our finite mind really truly fully grasp this. It's a truth like the Trinity that Scripture affirms, and so we affirm it, we rejoice in it, and yet to try to grasp that the Son is not created, He's not a lesser God, He's not a created God, He's fully equal with God the Father and yet eternally proceeding from God the Father.

Eternally, that relationship has existed and will always exist. So the pre-incarnate Son of God and incarnate Son of God, that relationship hasn't changed. It didn't come about at the incarnation. You
