How were those in the Old Testament saved?

Rob Ventura explains in this video that people in the Old Testament were justified by faith in Christ alone just as we are. Romans 4:3 (NKJV) explains that "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." They looked forward to the work of Christ and believed Him who was to come.

In Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV), we are told about a Savior who would save sinners. "The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." The Gospel promise was revealed by progressive revelation all throughout the Bible.

John 1:14 (NKJV) - "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

So when we talk about Old Testament Saints, the Old Testament Saints, which we're talking about believers, they were justified by faith in Christ alone, just as we are. To the end that Paul, when he's talking about justification by faith alone. Romans chapter 4 you think, what examples might he use? Well, interestingly enough, he uses Abraham and David. What did Abraham learn about this matter?

Abraham believed God and it was a credit to him for righteousness. David also speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom the Lord will not impute iniquity. So the Old Testament saints were saved the same way that we're saved. They looked forward to the work of Christ. They believed on Him who was to come.

All the prophets testifying right from page three as it were in our Bibles that there's going to be this seed of the woman who's going to crush the head of the serpent. They have this gospel promise opening up through progressive revelation all through the Bible and the picture of this one is coming clearer and clearer so that by the time we get to Isaiah 53, 600 years before the Lord Jesus comes on the scene, We are told about this one who would be wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace will be put upon him and by his stripes we are healed. You
