How can the knowledge of Christ's immutability impact the way we live?

Paul Thompson explains in this video that out of all of Christ’s attributes, He is most struck by His immutability - the fact that He does not change. He is always the same. 

Nothing about Christ ever changes. That attribute gives him confidence that Christ won’t change His mind later. He will be consistent and steadfast. This provides peace and joy in His immutability. Christ’s immutability is beautiful and glorious.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

You know, the attributes of Christ, all of them capture my attention. Maybe none capture my attention more than His immutability. Where there is this beauty of who God is and the manifold wisdom that exists in him and his wisdom and the expanse of who he is that I'm constantly learning more of Him and looking at Him from different dimensions or different locations or different vantage points, but yet nothing about Christ ever changes. And so that for me is an attribute that gives me confidence that I'm devoting myself. When he's not going to change his mind somewhere down the road, he's not going to have another opinion about one thing that he's shown me, that it's going to be consistent and steadfast.

So it gives confidence, it gives peace, it actually creates a position for real joy to even exist. And that immutability of Christ where He is not floundering around like I do. One time you could ask me what my favorite dessert is and the next day you could ask me and it would be different And it would be altogether different But it's not at all the way it is with Jesus Christ. It is always the same and it's beautiful. It's glorious.
