What does Christ save us from?

John Latham explains in this video that Christ is our Savior. Because of our sin, we need to be saved from God’s wrath, from hell, and being slaves to sin.

The Bible paints a really dark picture of where we are without salvation. As sinners, we desperately need salvation and to be redeemed. We need to be delivered from the domain of darkness and the rigors of the law that we cannot keep. Jesus is our Savior. He has triumphed over sin and death.  

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV) – “ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 

The Bible speaks of Jesus Christ being Savior. It again depicts a picture of a needy people, a people who by the fall of man, by our own sinfulness and sins desperately need saving. Saving from God's wrath, saving from condemnation, saving from hell, saving from our present state of being slaves to sin, saving from the domain of darkness. The Bible paints this really dark picture of where we are apart from Christ because of our own sins, because of the the sins of Adam and Eve as humanity that that we desperately need saving from ourselves and from the corruption of this world and and so Jesus comes to be that Savior appointed by God that He would redeem us, buy us back, return us to God, that He would deliver us from the domain of darkness, that He would deliver us from the rigors of the law that we can't keep because He kept them. He would save us from the condemning power of the law that we broke.

He would save us from the wrath of God by drinking that cup of wrath. He would save us from the power of sin over us that we're helpless to throw off. Jesus is our Savior and that He saves us from all those things, from our own flesh and nature, from sin and hell, from corruption, from damnation, He is our Savior.
