How is Christ the fulfillment of the Old Testament offices of prophet, priest, and king?

Rob Ventura explains in this video that Christ is the fulfillment of three offices in the Old Testament – prophet, priest, and king.

All of those offices were pointing forward to Christ who would ultimately fulfill each of those offices. He is our prophet to teach us. Christ teaches us through the Word of God. We need His instruction. 

Hebrews 9:11-12 (NKJV) – “ But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”

So Christ has three offices, right, set forth in the Old Testament and really he's fulfilling those major three prophetic offices in the Old Testament of prophet, priest, and king. And again you read your Old Testament, this is what you're seeing, prophets, you're seeing the prophets, you're seeing the priests and you're seeing the kings, but all of those offices were pointing forward to the one, the Lord Jesus Christ, who would fulfill those offices. So, as the Catechism says, what's the point essentially of Christ being our prophet? He's our prophet to teach us and we need to be taught. And Jesus teaches us by His Spirit through the Word of God because again We're grossly ignorant apart from Christ.

We need His instruction. His instruction comes to us through the Word of God and week in and week out as we sit under the Word of God. Christ our great prophet is in our midst teaching God's people God's will. Praise be to His name.
