What is one characteristic of Jesus Christ?

Rob Ventura explains in this video that Christ is a high priest like no other. We see His compassion throughout the Gospels when He described those He was preaching to as "sheep without a shepherd" (Matthew 9:36).

He is a compassionate High Priest. He is able to bear our burdens like no other and is ready, willing, and able to forgive our sins. He is full of love, grace, and mercy towards us.

Mark 6:34 (NKJV) – “And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.”

So when the writer of Hebrews speaks about Christ being our compassionate high priest, again it's self-evident. He is a compassionate high priest. He's a high priest like no other. And the issue of Christ being compassionate is that which we see again through the Gospels. He had compassion on them.

He was moved with compassion over the people. Why? Because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So this issue of the compassion of Christ, especially as High Priest, should be the very thing that draws us to him. He's not there with a stick ready to beat his people.

No, he's a compassionate High Priest. He wants to hear from us. He's able to bear our burdens like no other and he's ready, willing and able to forgive us of our sins as we confess them to Him. So He is a compassionate high priest, full of love, full of grace, full of mercy, and full of kindness to us, His redeemed. Thank you for watching!
