Do people see themselves as sinners or as mostly good? The way people see themselves today is the fundamental problem with christian hypocrisy because when they reject their own sinfulness, they reject Jesus and the cross. The only way to solve this problem is by the preaching of the word on sin and what Jesus did on the cross.  

People want to look good because they're not willing to come to the cross of Jesus Christ, admit themselves to be sinners, and say, that's why the Son of God had to come down here, because I am a sinner. They're rejecting their own sinfulness, and they're rejecting the work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God on that cross. This is the fundamental problem with Christian hypocrisy in our day. They reject the cross, they reject the work of Jesus, and they reject their own sinfulness. Now, how do we deal with that?
