How did Christ relate to His Father?

John Snyder explains in this video that Christ relates to God the Father by demonstrating both humility and submission. Christ submits to His Father and is humble. Christ draws all that He needs from the Spirit.

If you were to only read Christ’s words in Scripture, you find Christ describing a life of dependency and a yielding to the will of His Father. 

Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV) - "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."

Two things stick out. He relates in a yieldedness, he submits to his father, and independence. He is humble, leaning upon his father, drawing all that he needs from the Spirit. If you read through the Gospel of John and you were only to read the red letters where Christ Himself is speaking, you can make a list of everything He talks about, these categories. How do I know what to say?

How do I know where to preach tomorrow? What's my ambition? How do I respond to the word of God? How do I enjoy the nearness of my Father? And in each of these categories and more, you find Christ describing a life of dependence and yieldedness.
